Elyse Kelly is an animation producer, director and educator based in Washington DC.

She recently co-directed Fired Up, an animated short that depicts the origins of President Obama’s “fired up, ready to go” chant. Released on the final day of the Obama presidency, the film was featured by The Atlantic and has been viewed more than 7 million times.

Prior to that, she worked on the short documentary I Am Yup’ik for ESPN’s 30 for 30 shorts, which premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. In addition, she was part of the core team that produced Run Mama Run, a series about pregnant Olympic-hopeful Sarah Brown that The New York Times called “fascinating”.

Elyse has over a decade of experience in animation and film, working on commercials, television specials, music videos, short independent films and documentary series for clients such as the ACLU, Nickelodeon, Columbia Records, ESPN Films, Upworthy and Disney Research.
